[ After texting her current address to the mechanic, Buffy checks the clock and decides she has enough time to go through her poor excuse for a closet and find something appropriate. Well, more appropriate than the jeans and ratty sweater she was going to wear. One quick ransack later, she's ditched the sweater for a vaguely pirate-like peasant blouse, but kept the jeans. And the combat boots, because as if she's going to tromp around staking vampires in high heels. That's just asking for trouble.

So is the purse filled with stakes and vials of holy water, but that's beside the point. By three minutes to meeting time, she's barricaded the apartment against supernatural intrusion as much as she can, made sure her cell is charged up, and is trying to apply a lipstick gloss lightly enough for it to look almost natural. The occupation of vampire slayer isn't traditionally supposed to look glamorous, but a little fashion never hurt anyone. (Almost anyone, Lothos doesn't count.) ]

He looks around, vaguely wondering if vampires would ever attack a neighbourhood like this, but dismisses the thought, getting off the bike and going up to the door.
